Vendor CLI Cross-Reference
Community-reported — verify on your own hardwareTwenty operational tasks — BGP summary, MAC table, LLDP, port mirroring, packet capture, save and diff — with the command for IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS, EOS, VRP, Comware and Junos side by side.
Task
20 operational tasks
Matches the task name, the description, the commands themselves and the notes — “tracert”, “span”, “soft-reconfiguration”.
Export
The selected task, or the whole matrix as text
160 rows across 20 tasks. “All commands” writes a plain-text cheat sheet where a missing command is written as a comment with its reason.
Read the gaps, not just the cells
A missing row here is information, not an oversight. Where a platform genuinely has no in-box answer — IOS-XR has no port mirroring, classic IOS has no packet capture — the cell carries the reason and the workaround. Where we are not confident enough in a vendor's syntax, the row says so rather than printing a guess you might paste into a change window.

Commands
One row per platform, including the ones with no answer
| Platform | Command | Notes | Confidence | Copy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cisco IOS | show ip bgp summary | No quirks recorded — the command behaves the way the name suggests. | documented | |
| Cisco IOS-XE | show ip bgp summary | Address-family form: show bgp vrf <name> ipv4 unicast summary | documented | |
| Cisco IOS-XR | show bgp summary | IOS-XR drops the ip keyword in front of every address family. | documented | |
| Cisco NX-OS | show ip bgp summary | No quirks recorded — the command behaves the way the name suggests. | documented | |
| Arista EOS | show ip bgp summary | No quirks recorded — the command behaves the way the name suggests. | documented | |
| Huawei VRP | display bgp peer | No quirks recorded — the command behaves the way the name suggests. | documented | |
| H3C Comware | display bgp peer | Newer Comware releases also accept display bgp peer ipv4. | documented | |
| Juniper Junos | show bgp summary | No quirks recorded — the command behaves the way the name suggests. | documented |

Every task and platform, including the cells with no answer, so the export carries the gaps as well as the commands.
Frequently asked
- Does every platform have a command for every task?
- No, and the table says so instead of guessing. Some tasks have no in-box equivalent — IOS-XR cannot mirror a port, classic IOS has no packet capture — and each of those cells carries the reason.
- Which command shows the MAC address table on Junos?
- Junos switches use show ethernet-switching table. MX and SRX platforms do not maintain one at all, because they are routers rather than L2 switches.
- Why does the save command differ so much between vendors?
- IOS and EOS write memory, NX-OS and IOS-XE copy the running configuration to the startup configuration, VRP saves, Comware saves force, and IOS-XR and Junos treat commit as the save because both are candidate-configuration systems.
- What does "needs validation" mean on a row?
- It means the command was community-reported rather than read out of first-party documentation. Those rows are labelled so you can check them against your release before pasting them into a change window.
- Why is Huawei spelled "VRP" and not "Huawei"?
- VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) is the network operating system; Huawei is the vendor. H3C, the other half of the original Huawei-3Com venture, ships Comware instead — which is why both appear as separate columns.
